Being the Halloween season, it is quite possible that you're looking for something worthwhile for movie marathons with friends if you were to do such a thing. Well, that's where I come in. Tis the season to be scary and who better to guide you through the fear than someone who regularly finds time to embrace the dark while playing with his little demons. Here is a list of some of the best horror movies for the season as well as seasons to come.

There will be some people who would try to disagree with me on Rob Zombie redeeming himself with his remake of Halloween. After all, House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects were shining examples of how wrong American horror movies have been in the past decade. There might even be people who think that Rob Zombie's Halloween II was actually good. It's not and, before you start reading, be warned this is spoiler heavy because the movie was so bad, why hold back.

Movies: District 9 Review
I'll be honest. I'm not big on Science Fiction so I really didn't hold out much hope for District 9 when I first heard about it, especially when I heard that something as ambitious as the movie was had been taken up by a newcomer to the film direction scene. This made it all the more pleasing to see that it was a well done emotional thrill ride.
For the people who haven't seen it already, one of the things you'll notice, and think is really bizarre, happens to be the mixture of genres tha...
Lovecraft in Survival Horror
Since the first edition of the gaming podcast will be on survival horror, why not examine one of the forefathers of contemporary horror that brought about the inspiration for a lot of horror, whether it's in film, game or other writings. That forefather is Howard Phillip Lovecraft (H.P. Lovecraft).
Though Lovecraft didn't survive to see video games come into being, his writing has. Either way, since he didn't like games of his time, he probably would've hated the fact that his stories hav...
Movies: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Review
For the fans of the Harry Potter series, The Half-Blood Prince is both one of the best in the franchise and one of the most sobering films in the series.
Bear in mind, if you haven't read the books, there are going to be some spoilers in this review.
Yes, the movie is great. The soundtrack is incredible, classically driven with romantic ornamentation. It works really well.
The camera work is straightforward, rarely getting into anything really fancy. It takes more of a film noir...
News Commentary: Asteroids to become a movie
Recently it was revealed that Universal had won a four-studio bidding war for the rights to make a film adaptation for the classic game Asteroids. There's only one thing that came to mind when I heard this, a nice little question. Is this a joke?
If you look at the history of game-based movies, there's two ways this could go. It could either go the way of Street Fighter and anything done by Uwe Boll or it could go the way of Silent Hill. Yeah, a lot of people are going to argue that the film ...
